microneedling
what is it?
Microneedling, a facial treatment, utilizes a device equipped with tiny needles to induce controlled punctures, or microchannels, in the skin. This process prompts the skin’s inherent healing mechanisms, boosting collagen and elastin production for enhanced firmness and elasticity, key factors in youthful skin. Through these microchannels, growth factors are released, stimulating the generation of fresh skin cells and the synthesis of new collagen. Often referred to as collagen induction therapy, microneedling fosters skin rejuvenation and renewal.
how it works
We will apply a topical numbing solution to your skin to begin the treatment. Then, we will use the device to target your area of concern and adjust the device as needed to address both minor and major skin concerns with the right needle depth. The device can target more sensitive areas with shorter needles and more tolerant, thicker areas with deeper needles.
As the needles penetrate the skin, they create microchannels, also known as micro-wounds, that the body responds to with a healing reaction that includes increased collagen and elastin production. Increased collagen in the area rejuvenates the skin, makes lines and wrinkles less noticeable and can fill in acne scars to improve overall skin texture. Treatments typically take 30-60 minutes, depending on the area being treated.
