Latisse Eyelash Treatment

what is latisse eyelash serum

Not everyone is born with bold, flutter-worthy lashes. But that doesn’t mean you can’t grow them. Latisse is the first FDA-approved prescription eyelash serum designed to treat lash hypotrichosis—a fancy word for lashes that are too short or thin. Applied once daily to the upper lash line, it enhances your natural lashes over time, helping them grow longer, fuller, and darker. Clinical studies show visible results in just 8 weeks, with full effects at 16 weeks.

how it works

Call it a beauty win where the wow beats the how. The active ingredient, bimatoprost, is believed to extend the anagen (growth) phase of the lash cycle. That means your lashes spend more time growing, and more lashes grow at once. Over time, this leads to a noticeable improvement in both length and density.

latisse lash serum benefits

longer lashes

Latisse doesn’t just condition—it grows your lashes from the root by extending the natural growth phase. Results build gradually for a natural look that’s all you.

fuller lashes

By increasing the number of lashes in the active growth phase, Latisse helps you achieve a denser lash line—no extensions or falsies needed.

darker lashes

Latisse enhances pigment, making each lash appear richer and more defined, even without mascara.

Low effort. High impact.

Latisse works behind the scenes while you sleep. One quick application a night is all it takes.

common questions

how long does it take for latisse to work?

Most people begin to see subtle improvements around week 4, but full results take about 16 weeks with consistent daily use.

If you discontinue Latisse, your lashes will slowly return to their original state over the course of several weeks or months.

Apply one drop of Latisse each night along the upper lash line using the sterile applicators provided. Do not apply it to the lower lash line, and always use a new applicator for each eye to avoid contamination.

Yes, though many clients find they no longer need them after reaching full results. Just be sure to apply Latisse on clean, makeup-free skin at night.

Latisse is FDA-approved and considered safe for long-term use when applied as directed. Minor side effects like dryness or skin darkening at the lash line may occur, but often resolve with time or adjusted use.

This is a rare but possible side effect. While permanent eye color change has been reported in patients using bimatoprost directly in the eye (for glaucoma), it’s extremely uncommon with proper upper-lash-line application.

Results last as long as you continue using the product consistently. Once you stop, your lashes will gradually revert to their baseline over time. For best results, make Latisse part of your nightly routine.

Latisse is generally well tolerated, but if you have sensitive eyes or existing conditions like dry eye or allergies, be sure to talk to your provider first. We’ll help determine whether it’s a safe fit for you.
