Here’s What to Expect…
… Before Your Session
For best results, avoid sun exposure and self-tanning products for 2 weeks prior to your session. Additionally, avoid Retin-A, retinol, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and any form of vitamin A for 3-5 days prior to the session. If you wear contacts, please remove them before your treatment.
… During Your Session
At your session, we’ll cleanse your skin and review your goals. Then, we’ll administer radiofrequency energy deep into the skin through tiny electrode pins. This will create micro-dermal wounds with low impact on the epidermis to stimulate the skin’s natural collagen and elastin production, resulting in complete skin renewal. Since the wounds are so small, the treatment is comfortable yet effective. It will take about 30-60 minutes depending on the size of the area.
… After Your Session
Your skin will experience mild redness for about 24 hours after treatment. During this time, don’t use any products on the treatment area. Use SPF 30+ for at least 30 days afterward. Most patients require 3 treatments over a 3-month period. Depending on the severity of the condition, additional treatments may be added to further improve the results.

RF Microneedling
At our Ethos MedSpa locations, we offer RF microneedling treatments with the Virtue RF device. This radiofrequency energy microneedling treatment delivers some immediate and long-term results and can target several of the most common skin concerns.
How It Works
The Virtue RF device contains sterile, hair-thin microneedles that penetrate beyond the skin’s surface and reach into the dermis to create microchannels, improving the skin on different levels. These microchannels stimulate the body’s natural collagen production abilities. At the same time, the radiofrequency heat energy delivered by the device remodels existing collagen and elastin to promote visibly tighter and younger-looking skin.
The Virtue RF device operates with precision and accuracy and allows us to customize treatments to address patients’ specific concerns. The needles in the device create injuries in the skin, and the body reacts to those injuries with a healing response that includes increased cellular turnover rate and collagen and elastin production. The radiofrequency energy also stimulates the body’s natural collagen production while tightening the skin to combat the more visible signs of aging.

What To Expect From the Treatment
RF microneedling is a virtually painless treatment. It’s minimally invasive, and we begin the process by applying a topical numbing cream to your treatment area.
Once your skin is numb, we will begin the treatment and pass the device back and forth across your skin, creating tiny microchannels on and below the skin’s surface. We will apply your chosen treatment serum to enhance your results, and then once it’s over, you’ll be able to resume most of your normal daily activities.
Is There Downtime?
There isn’t any downtime associated with the Virtue RF treatment process. Your skin may feel warm, red, or tight immediately following your treatment, which is a normal response to the RF microneedling device. You may experience some peeling after your treatment, which simply indicates an increased cellular turnover rate.
You must temporarily discontinue active ingredients such as retinoids, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, vitamin c, benzoyl peroxide, retin-a, tretinoin, etc. since your skin will be more sensitive after treatment. We will give you instructions on which topical solutions to use and avoid as your skin heals post-treatment.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Patients will benefit from a single treatment, but the most dramatic and noticeable results come from a series of three or more treatments. We typically schedule these treatments with four to six weeks between each. After completing the recommended number of sessions, maintenance treatments every six months will help you maintain healthier and younger-looking skin long-term.
What Kind of Results Can I Expect?
You will see some initial results immediately following your treatment due to the way that the radiofrequency energy causes an immediate contraction and remodeling of existing collagen, which leads to skin tightening results. However, the treatment also requires patience because it takes time for the body to produce new collagen. The best results will be most visible within the first four to six weeks of completing the recommended treatments.
